Packaging and Shipping

On this page you will find information about packaging your order. You will also find an overview of the shipping costs for your order. We will charge (partially) the shipping costs. On the other hand, you always buy our cheese at competitive and current market prices!

Can you cut off exactly 500 grams of cheese?

That is of course exciting! You may have seen us cut off the exact weight on the market. But the truth is; it doesn't work out more often than not. Because you have of course paid for 500 grams (or 1000 grams), we guarantee that the total weight of the order is never less than the weight for which you paid. It may be that a piece of cheese weighs slightly less, but this will always be compensated with another piece of cheese from your order. This way you always get what you paid for.

How is my cheese packaged?

All cheese you order is freshly cut and vacuum packed. Vacuum-packed cheese has a shelf life of at least two months. We usually send your cheese in a cardboard box with sufficient padding material and possibly an ice pack (a white bag with liquid). This ice pack can simply be thrown in the residual waste.

In the summer months of July and August we send your cheese order in an ISOPRO insulation box. This keeps the temperature in the box considerably lower, which improves quality. Shipping costs in the summer are therefore higher than you are used to from us. On the other hand, you always buy our cheese at competitive and current market prices.

The ISOPRO insulation boxes are an environmentally friendly and space-saving alternative to regular Styrofoam boxes. In addition, the costs are lower. The outer box can of course be disposed of with the waste paper. The inside of the box may be disposed of with residual waste. You can always return the outer box and inside at one of our markets. For €6,95 you can also have your order shipped in an ISOPRO insulation box for the rest of the year. You add one for that ISOPRO insulation box to your regular cheese order.

Does my cheese always have to be refrigerated?

Regular Dutch cheese that is vacuum packed and does not have to be refrigerated according to the law. That is why we can also send our cheese by post. We do ask you to keep the cheese in the refrigerator after receipt. Then it will last longer!

The vacuum packaging has leaked. Is that a problem?

A leaky packaging is not a problem for the cheese, but it does increase the chance of mold formation. So it's a good idea to eat this piece of cheese first. By the way, you can always cut away mold from the surface. The cheese itself does not spoil. Old cheese naturally lasts a little longer than young cheese or herb cheese.

Do you send cheese paper?

As standard, we send a piece of cheese paper for each piece of cheese. Your cheese stays fresh longer in cheese paper. Do you still have enough cheese paper at home or are you not using it? With the articles below you can indicate that you: less or completely not need cheese paper. Save trees!

How will my cheese be delivered?

You will receive an email notification when the cheese is on its way. This email contains a tracking code with which you can track the order. If you are not at home, a new delivery attempt will take place the next day. After two attempts, the package is delivered to a pick-up point. You will be informed about this by the delivery person (DPD).

Which countries can you ship to?

We currently ship our cheese to addresses in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Luxembourg, Ireland and Poland. This may be expanded to other European countries in the future. We will announce this at an early stage on our website.

What are the costs?

You always pay the same price for our cheese as on the market! Of course, we do incur some extra costs when we package and ship your cheese. We therefore (partly) pass on these costs to you. In the table below you will find an overview of the shipping costs. Shipping costs are higher in the summer because we ship in an ISOPRO insulation box as standard.
