Description
This Old Farmers Cheese is called ‘Kruimelaar’ in Dutch. ‘Kruimelaar’ is best translated as ‘made from crumbles’ and says something about the cheesemaking recipe. Due to a very mild ‘pressing’ during the cheesemaking process the cheese will preserve more moisture than a regular Gouda cheese. When the cheese ages this will result in a very delicious old cheese with a strong flavour but yet super creamy. This cheese is made in traditional way in the Groene Hart (green heart) area of The Netherlands. The cheeses are ageing at beech wooden planks in original cheese werehouses under the supervision of very skilled cheesemasters.
