Farmer ‘De Gelder’ in the Frisian village Tynje makes this unique farmers cheese with holes. The special taste of this cheese originates from a ‘mistake’ in the cheesemaking process. The big holes and slightly sweet taste were not meant to be there at first. But when people start to appreciate this ‘mistake’ a new type of cheese was born!
